Nowadays, there are many advertisements shown in different ways like radio and television. Some of them are well-produced but some are really wasting our time and energy to watch them. It is said that advertisements can help promoting products. However advertisement should be banned on radio or television as they influence the public. Now, it is high time for us to think of this problem.

That¡¦s no doubt that advertisements have their use to promote product to the public. Try to imagine if there are no advertisements on radio or television in the world, we cannot get the information of some new products at once. Some may say that we can get the information we want by the news in the newspaper. But, the news is not the fastest way to tell us the good ways of the products and we do not know if the products suit us. Eventually, the whole world would not improve itself immediately and all of us would not get the benefits from the newly invented product at once.

On the other hand, advertisement has the use of educating people. The government spends lots of money every year on advertisement because she wants to pass positive messages to the public and educate them through it lively. Recently, a government television advertisement gets a great response on the public. It is about the penalty of throwing rubbish in public areas. It said that whatever you throw on the street will cost you six hundred dollars. On the first day it is shown, many people talk about this issue and they become aware of the seriousness of the penalty. Then, they know that throwing rubbish on the street is not recommended and will not do this in the future. The aim of this advertisement has been fulfilled.

If you ask me if I support advertisements on radio and television, I would say yes. The way I look at this is a kind of culture. We have an annual most favourable advertisement campaign shown on ATV. Every year a lot of people vote for their most favourable advertisement among the nominees and there is an increasing voting rate as well. That means there are audiences who appreciate them. Nonetheless, some said they are silly and stupid because advertisement is produced for companies to promote their products, that is, it is just a tool to attract the public to consume. Advertisement culture is just a beautified term. However, we should not ban the contribution of the working team of an advertisement. Those people have great imagination and energy which is the superiority of Hong Kong over the other Asian countries like Singapore and Korea. Hong Kong people are hard-working in eminence in the world. All of these characters make the Hong Kong advertisement industry become one of the best in the world.

All in all, advertising on radio or television can be functioned as a good way to promote products and to educate the public. What exactly advertising leads to is creativeness and imagination brought by the designers of advertisements. Thus, advertising should be allowed on radio or television.
