ˇ§ Students canˇ¦t bear pressure and commit suicideˇ¨, ˇ§ bad-temper
resulted in family catastrophesˇ¨, ˇ§ youngster cut his hands to let go pressureˇ¨,
etc. Terrible headings always appeared. These are all due to a disease
called depression. The trend of the youth getting depression is gradually
increasing over the past few years. So, we should keep a watchful eye on
it. Depression is no longer a disease that only adults will be infected.
So, I strongly disagree with the statement,ˇ¨ Youth depression is not a
diseaseˇ¨.
All of us know very well that ˇ§diseaseˇ¨ is defined as an abnormal health condition of whosever bodies. It can affect our health either mentally or physically or both. Some people are so naive that, they think a sickness cannot be regarded as disease just because it is not infectious! However, the fact is, whatever the sickness is, once a person feels unusual uncomfortable with their bodies or minds, it does become a disease undoubtedly and need to be cured by doctors, no matter it is infectious or not. too. Actually, depression is a kind of mental disease, which is not infectious. It is a blue that always sticks in the patientˇ¦s mind, results in negative thinking, bad-tempered, self-torturing, uncontrollable crying, poor appetites, etc. Worse still, they may commit suicide at last. The above abnormal actions resulted from depression are extremely obvious to inform us that depression is a disease. A recent statistic revealed that, over 90% of both adults and youngsters are discovered to have similar symptoms when they had the same simulations in their brains that lead to depression. Once they got depression, both parties will think negatively, cry, show no motive to do anything, no appetite and try to escape from problems instead of seeking for help. In other words, they possess the symptoms of depression to some extents. That means, if we agree that adultsˇ¦ depression is a kind of disease, then why youth depression is not? Why people still try to ignore the fact? Everyone in the world has an equal chance suffering from depression, if we say it is only a kind of adult disease, we are just camouflaging our neglect towards youngsters. Although some doctors claim that youth depression is not as serious as the adultsˇ¦, does this mean that it will not happen on the youth? Of course not! Today, the cases of youth depression are rising sharply in these recent years, so we should spotlight this problem before the trend gets worse. We shouldnˇ¦t neglect the truth that youth depression is as serious as adultsˇ¦. If we still do not concern about this issue, there may be a shocking increase in the number of youth suicide cases since they are helpless to seek for support! Action speaks louder than words. Letˇ¦s face it,ˇ¨ Youth depression is a diseaseˇ¨! |
