I am writing to reply to the letter from two news programs, “Opinion on dating” and “ First Date” showed on TVB on 5th February. In the first new program, it found that parents and students have really opposing views about dating. Personally, I think dating is good for teenagers.

I totally agree with a student, who is an interviewee in the first new program. He said that it’s right for secondary school students to date and said that dating was romantic and fun. Someone say that dating will affect students’ studying, if they date too much. However, Lonky, who is an interviewee in “ First Date”, said ‘ I started dating in primary four, I think dating is great and I enjoy it very much!’ Therefore, I think dating is good.

It is clear that I disagree with a parent, who is an interviewee in the first new program. ‘Secondary school students are too young to date! They have to prepare for their exams. How can they waste time dating?’ she answered the interviewer. But dating can improve students’ relationship with their friends. They can go shopping, go for a walk or go to the cinema during dating. Thus, dating is a good activity.

In fact, I believe dating is a healthy activity. Some parents say dating waste time and money, because some boys waste thousands of dollars to buy expensive presents for their pretty girlfriends. However, I think it’s important to develop a healthy and sensible attitude to dating. Therefore, dating is a healthy activity.

Actually, I have done a survey about ‘Students’ dating ’ too. However, this survey is quite small. I have just interviewed some classmates in my school. Surprisingly, they all think that dating is good for students. They told me many and many advantages about dating. ‘ I don’t feel lonely when I go to the cinema with my pretty girlfriend!’ my classmate said. So dating is good for us.

Having said that, I hope the parents will think the advantages about teenagers’ dating. I hope every teenager has a good dating time with his or her friend.
